Aluminium spreader plates are used with water underfloor heating systems for laying across floor joists. The items have measurements of 390mm X 1000mm X 0.5mm, with a groove depth of 16mm.
The diffuser plates are designed to be used with floor joists with centres of 400mm. The aluminium spreader plates can also be fastened down to joists with the aid of a hand stapler, making installation even simpler.
The void below the plates is filled with insulation to prevent heat from being lost into this space. This can also help to spread warmth evenly across the floor above. The multi-layered barrier pipes are fitted into the grooves, or channels, of the plates, which have been produced for use with piping measuring 15mm or 16mm in diameter.
Underfloor Heating DirectWhen installing the spreader plates, allow a minimum of 250mm from the walls to allow for the bend and return of the fixtures in the other direction. The aluminium items should be secured as you work along the space using screws, nails or a stapler, which should lie flush with the spreader plate's surface.
Before securing the second plate, remember to leave a gap of 10mm, which allows room for any expansion. To make sure that the spreader plates are aligned correctly, place a small piece of pipe into the meeting channels of the items, before finally securing. Don't remove the length of pipe from the channels until the spreader plate is firmly secured.
The metal plates should not overlap at any stage, as this could result in a noise being produced as they heat up to reach the selected temperature, or when they cool down. These items are made of high-grade aluminium, which is light weight and designed to be used with wooden joists.
This high grade aluminium plate is designed for use with 15mm or 16mm pipework.
