Commonly used for underfloor heating systems, the measurements of the aluminium heat spreader plates that we stock are 390mm X 1,000mm X 0.3mm. The depth of the grooves in these items is 16mm, with the diffuser plates suitable for 400mm joist centres.
They are also easy to fit, as the spreader plates just have to be laid across traditional joists and fixed into place using a hand stapler.
After installing multi-layered barrier piping into the grooves, place insulation in the space beneath the plates to reduce heat loss and spread warmth evenly across the floor above.
This product can be used in conjunction with 15mm or 16mm pipe.
Please note: If you are looking to purchase spreader plates, you will need to purchase a High Output or Multi Room kit as these have pipe spacings of 200mm.Underfloor Heating Direct
Position the spreader plates 250mm away from the walls, so that the pipes have sufficient room to bend and return in the other direction.
Use staples, screws or nails to secure the spreader plates as you work. Make sure that these fixings are flush with the surface of the spreader plates.
Leave a 10mm gap between the first and second spreader plate to allow for expansion. After this, insert a small section of pipe into the meeting channels of the two plates, so that you can make sure they are correctly aligned before securing them.
Fully secure the plate before removing the length of pipe to ensure that it is aligned correctly. However, don't let the sections overlap at any point, as this could cause noise when the plates are changing temperature, heating up or cooling down.
This type of aluminium spreader plate is 390mm wide, 1,000mm long and has a depth of 0.5mm. Its weight is 0.56kg, while a box of forty weighs 22.4kg. With groove spaces at 200mm centres, each plate covers 0.39m2.
Heat is spread evenly on the floor surface using the high-standard aluminium, with plates designed to be used with joists at 400mm centres. Due to their practical design, it is simple to quickly install these light-weight items.
