- Split the first row of baseboards in half lengthwise and place the cut edges against the wall.
- Lay the first board with its cut edges in the corner, then position the rest end-to-end along the wall.
- Leave an 8-10mm expansion gap around the perimeter and any fixed objects.
- Continue laying the second row, staggering joints for added stability.
- Keep the protective film on the adhesive side until the top boards are ready to be placed.
- Lay the top boards in the same direction as the baseboards with the adhesive side facing down.
- Position the first board in the corner, overlapping both the first and second rows of baseboards.
- Peel back only the required amount of protective film to expose the adhesive surface.
- Secure the board by tapping it down with a rubber mallet, ensuring tight joints.
- Stagger the next rows by alternating full and half-length boards for a gap-free finish.
- Once installed, glue your final floor covering onto the boards or place it freely on top.
- Test the foil heater(s) and floor sensor before laying the final floor covering to ensure no damage occurred during installation.
Important Notes
- Not suitable for wet areas: Do not use in bathrooms, wet rooms, or en-suites as MDF will expand when exposed to moisture.
- For wet areas, use an underfloor heating mat with a self-leveling compound.
- Ensure an expansion gap of 8-10mm (16mm at door openings) when continuing into adjoining areas.
